| Date: 16th March 2004 | Dear friends,
SCESA (Sophia College Ex-Students Association) has been active - growing, nurturing and bonding.
Memories, strong vibrant memories of yesteryears bring us all together.
What do we do? Many things - many many things - from teaching English to big projects like water harvesting.
Have a look at our exciting website www.scesa.net
Water Harvesting:
You will note that apart from the small projects to help the unskilled poor and downtrodden we are involved in Water Harvesting in a big way. This just happened and now seems growing larger than our expectations. Of course we are thrilled about this but costs are mounting.
SCESA Sangam: Our open classroom will cater to a wide range of interests & has no geographical barriers. This means they can be helped wherever SCESA operates.
Networking: With Sophia's students around the world this will be a challenging and exciting project to meet, greet and help one another.
Our membership is steadily growing. SCESA (India) has a life membership fee of Rs. 500/- with a Rs. 100/- annual fee towards AMASC fees, which entitles us to an AMASC passport.
Patrons in India pay Rs. 5000/- and above. We look forward to all our overseas ex-students joining SCESA as patrons.
We welcome with gratitude whatever our Non-Resident ex-students feel is appropriate to back the causes towards which we are working; among which are water harvesting, SCESA Sangam, street children, English Language classes for the underprivileged.
If your contribution exceeds Rs. 10,000 you will besides supporting our causes also be a Patron of SCESA.
All monies should be sent to 'Society for the Higher Education of Women in India' a/c no. 1518, Bank of Baroda, Bhulabhia Desai Road, Mumbai-400026.
This will enable us to grow as a body with financial muscle and achieve much much more.
Yours affectionately,
Cerena de Souza
Chairperson
